Overview
The library provides both printed and electronic learning resources and offers various services including guidance, borrowing, reservations, and other informational services. The library houses over 98,000 scientific and informational materials, including books, periodicals, and multimedia. It subscribes to several databases and electronic journals. The library follows the American cataloging rules and the Library of Congress Classification system for cataloging and classifying its holdings. All library services are computerized using an integrated system known as MEDAD. This system facilitates quick access to catalogs both within and outside the library. Additionally, the library has 59 discussion rooms and 114 computers for web access.
The main library building in Al Ain provides a spacious and suitable study environment that can accommodate 210 visitors. It also offers wireless internet (Wi-Fi) services and contains 56 computers for internet use and database searches, along with 17 discussion rooms. As for the Abu Dhabi campus, the library is equipped with 227 seats, 42 study and meeting rooms, 58 computers with full internet access, and wireless connectivity.
