Al Ain University Students Participate in the MOEI AD42 AI Hackathon
A team of Al Ain University students participated in the MOEI AD42 AI Hackathon: Federal Services, hosted by 42 Abu Dhabi Academy over 48 hours under the theme “Artificial Intelligence for Federal Infrastructure and Energy Services.”
The hackathon brought together more than 130 participants from across the United Arab Emirates, who collaborated to develop innovative AI-driven solutions aimed at enhancing the efficiency of federal services in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
A remarkable achievement was accomplished by Asma Al Awlaqi, a student from the College of Engineering, whose team secured second place in the competition under the supervision of Dr. Zaid Hadiya. The team demonstrated outstanding capabilities in innovation, technical problem-solving, and the development of effective solutions to address real-world challenges using advanced artificial intelligence technologies.
During the hackathon, participants tackled a range of critical challenges, including intelligent asset inspection, federal housing services, energy demand forecasting, executive intelligence systems, AI-powered customer service agents, and digital assistants for government platforms.
The event also provided participants with valuable opportunities to collaborate with experts from government and industry sectors, as well as specialized academics. In addition, they gained hands-on experience in designing autonomous AI systems capable of managing complex operations efficiently with minimal human intervention.
Al Ain University’s participation in this event reflects its commitment to fostering innovation, enhancing students’ skills in advanced technological fields, and empowering them to contribute to the development of future-oriented solutions that support the UAE’s digital transformation and artificial intelligence agenda.
