“Khalifa” Library organized the Information Literacy Training for AAU Students

 

AAU students have recently attended information literacy training organized by AAU library. The training was delivered within six weeks by Mr. Abdoulaye Kaba – Library Director with the participation of students from all the colleges in Al Ain Campus. By attending the course, the students learned how to identify the needed information and references, how to access information, how to effectively and efficiently use information for assignments and projects; and finally understand the economic, legal, and social issues of information.

According to Mr. Mohammed Al Belushi –student form College of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, said “I could not imagine that it was helpful to this level, I am very happy that I had an opportunity to attend this training, I advise my fellow students to take Information Literacy Training.

From her part, Ms. Aisha Adhah – student from College of Business said “I have to say that I learned more than I expected in information literacy training, I really appreciate AAU library and the University for offering this important training free of charge”.

At the end, the participants were awarded “Certificate of Attendance”. The awarding ceremony was held in the library with the presence of Dr. Belkacem Athamena -Chairman of Library Committee, Dr. Abdel Ghani Remache- Director of English Language Center, Mr. Abdoulaye kaba – Library Director, Ms. Sameera Mohammad – Assistant Library Director, and Mrs. Wejdan Khalil Faroun – Library Assistant for user education.

For his part, the Library Director commented: AAU libraries will continue offering free workshops and trainings for AAU community to raise awareness and improve effective use of information sources and services.
