Overview

 

AAU Library was inaugurated in September 2005 with approximately 5000 books. Since then the library has continuously increased its collections to more than 60, 000 Volumes, comprising of books, journals, magazines, multimedia, and audio-visual materials.

 

Library operations are computerized using an integrated library automation system called Symphony. The system allows for speedy and convenient access to library catalogue inside and outside the AAU campus. In addition to providing access to bibliographic database, the library subscribes to specialized databases and uses the Library of Congress Classification (LCC) system to manage collections.

The main library building in Al-Ain provides a spacious and conducive study environment. It has a seating capacity for 206 visitors. In addition, the Library also has 53 computers and wireless connection for the Internet and database use.
