AAU organized a Workshop on Managing Research Through “Mendeley” Program

As part of supporting and facilitating research activities among faculty members, AAU Library in collaboration with Information Technology Center (ITC) organized a workshop about “Mendeley” program in both campuses Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. “Mendeley” is a desktop and web program for managing and sharing research papers, discovering research data and collaborating online with peers.

The workshop was delivered in two days by Mr. Abdoulaye Kaba, Library Director. At the beginning, the trainer explained to the participants the features and functions of “Mendeley” in comparison to other reference management tools such as EndNote, RefWorks, Zotero, and Papers. Across many steps and applications the participants were trained how to use “Mendeley” in managing research projects, discovering researchers and research papers, creating research groups and networking with colleagues and peers, etc. In addition, Mr. Kaba responded effectively to the questions and inquiries raised by the participants during the workshops.

In his comments about the workshop, Dr. Noor Aldeen Atatreh - AAU Chancellor – appreciated the collaboration between AAU Library and ITC for organizing this important workshop. According to him, the workshop should have direct impact on research activities among faculty members. Stressing on the university’s keenness to organize more workshops and trainings that can support teaching, learning, and scientific research.
